Our brand new Latin Ventures could be the holiday for you!

With Latin Ventures you will travel in a small group and can expect to see some of the most memorable sights in the country you visit. You’ll experience Latin American church worship, meet Latin Link members, and spend a worthwhile day helping out at a project.

The trip will include a challenge, whether it’s to climb a mountain, do a jungle trek or a bike ride. Or your challenge may simply be to raise funds for Latin Link before you go or when you come back. We ask all Venturers to raise a minimum of £500, part of which will support the projects visited.

Every group will have the benefit of an accompanying Latin Link leader throughout, and group size will be 10-20 people maximum.

Latin Venture Ecuador, 2-16 September 2006

This little-known, tropical destination offers a panorama of delights: from the islands off the sparkling Pacific coast to the foothills of the Andes, and across to the jungles in the east.

This first venture is a joint one between Latin Link and Orphaids.  Led by Ecuador veteran and Orphaids founder John Hart, it promises to be an unforgettable experience. You will get to meet some of the children orphaned by AIDS, now cared for at Orphaids in Santo Domingo de los Colorados, visit the small community cooperative of Nuevos Horizontes who grow exotic flowers for fair wages, and perhaps drop in on the REMAR centre for street girls in the colonial capital city of Quito, spectacularly set in a deep valley.  The itinerary will also include a visit to a jungle craft market, an excursion to the beautiful Isla de la Plata (‘Isle of Silver’) and a trek in the mountainous region of Chimborazo.
