AIDS Orphan

Malawi

Orphaids started supporting a project called KINDLE (Kids In Need Deserve Love and Encouragement) in Malawi in 2005.

Kindle Orphan Outreach is a Christian, local Malawian organisation that supports orphans through a “home based” approach, nurturing them and kindling Christ’s hope in their lives through holistic programs.

During the 2005-2006 famine season in Malawi , Kindle had 5 feeding programs targeting different needs among children and adults.  Kindle was able to reach over 10,000 vulnerable people with dry food goods which brought them through the famine.

This was made possible through partners around the world, one of whom was Orphaids.

A visit to Malawi by leadership from Orphaids brought us into direct contact with the challenges that local organisations were facing in this famine.

Through donation, Kindle was able to buy over 8 tons of dry food goods for  distribution.  Prices soared and availability of food disappeared.  The donation from Orphaids made it possible to store large quantities of food in order to continue the programs until the new crop had come in for the people.

Since that time, Kindle has visited the Orphaids leadership in England and has been able to report to us and share many stories and testimonies of lives saved through this partnership.

As Kindle continues to shine Christ’s hope into peoples lives, we hope to continue our relationship.
